Happy 5th Birthday Mikah!
Mikah on his 5th Birthday. His Aunt Lisa made him that birthday pin, so cute!
Well, I have been slacking on my blogging duties and I should really catch up before I get even further behind! So much has happened since the last time I wrote, so I'll try to do bits at a time, starting with the biggest milestone in our family. My oldest, Mikah turned 5 on August 13th, AND he started kindergarten last week! I can't believe that 5 years ago Stephen and I became a Mommy and Daddy for the very first time.
Below is a photo of Mikah when he was just a few days old!
Mikah and Mommy at 8mths old
On his birthday he was so excited to see his picture on the local News. I had
e-mailed the show with his picture and birthday and he made it on there!
He started kindergarten last week and he loves it. I had some mixed emotions about it, him being my first born child and all. I've been a stay at home Mom with him since he was born, but I did put him in a Mother's Day Out program last year which I really think helped prepare him (and me!) He loves his new class and his teacher and is already learning so many things.
Here he is with his brother Casey on his first day of school.
I have so much more to blog about, but it is way past my bedtime, as always, so I will write later!

I was featured in a Treasury on Etsy!
What is a "Treasury" you ask? Well, if you're familiar with Etsy, then you probably know what the Treasury is all about. If not, I'll give you a brief description of what it is. Anyone who has an account on Etsy can curate a Treasury, they're hard to get because lots of people are waiting for one to expire so they can grab one. It is up to the curator to pick a theme for the treasury and to find items out of the thousands on Etsy to fill it up for others to view. These lists also have the potential to make the front page of Etsy. Having items featured on the Treasury is very flattering, and I have actually gotten sales from people who have never seen my shop before that way. I am actually working on a custom order for someone who saw my cloth rattle ball on this very Treasury! Thank you Artsyrubbish for featuring me in your list!
While I'm talking about treasuries, I snagged one of my own and featured some of my favorite baby/kid items on Etsy. I own some goodies from about half of these shops featured!

Nine Year Wedding Anniversary!
My husband and I just celebrated our nine year wedding anniversary on June 19th. I would have blogged about it on that date, BUT I didn't have a blog then, so this is a belated tribute to our amazing 9 years!
We first met in Drama class in Highschool. I was 15, he was 16 (I was too young to date then). I had a bit of a crush on him, I thought he was so cute and so funny. I loved the way he made me laugh! Over the next couple of years we would run into eachother, he would say hi to me as I was cheering at a football game, and I would be so frustrated that he didn't ask for my phone number! Then when I was a Senior, he applied at the local Dry Cleaner's which just so happened to be where I worked, and where my Mom was the supervisor. I gave rave reviews about Stephen and how she should totally hire him, and the rest is history. We were only 19 and 20 when we got married, and shipped straight off to Virginia where we were stationed with the Navy (he was in the Navy, not me!) We lived there for 5 years and are now happily back home in Texas with our family. We have three beautiful boys now... more on them on a later date!
Happy Anniversary Stephen!

So much to do......
So my blog is so far in the "infant" stages, with what little exta time I have, I plan on updating somewhat frequently. I had wondered if I should have one for family, and one for my business, but since I want both, but don't really have the time for TWO blogs on top of TWO Myspaces, a website AND my Etsy shop, one will have to do for now! And I of course need to start adding lots more blogging friends to my page! This blogging world will be fun!
For today I need to get back to the house, sewing and taking care of kids. I will also be working on adding some more of these fabulous cloth rattle balls for babies to my shop. So check out my shop in the future for more goodies!

My bean bags are featured on Etsy!
Yay! I was so excited to see that my bean bags from my Etsy shop was featured on Etsy's Gift Guide! Etsy admin hunts down great products from Etsy sellers and organizes them into categorized gift guides. They look for unique items, with great photos and choose very few out of the thousands of items on Etsy. I decided to browse around the Gift Guides and was pleasantly surprised to see my bean bags on the first page of the Children's Category! Yay me!

To Blog or Not to Blog....
...that is the question. So it took some time for me to convert to myspace, and even longer to start to blog. After seeing my sister's amazingly adorable blog, among many many others, I just couldn't resist any longer. I'm totally new to blogging and I am hoping I will figure out soon how to make mine just as gorgeous and appealing as my sister's. For a total feast for the eyes, check her Little Lovables blog out... right now!
For today I will keep it short and sweet, and hopefully soon I will have some clever things to write about!
